THOUGHTS

Thoughts!  Thoughts!! What am I going to do with these thoughts? I can’t stop thinking about the angry words that were said and the hurt that is inside me.  What am I to do?  These thoughts are controlling my days and ruining my nights.  You must remember that you are not alone in this situation.  There are many others that deal with the same thing.  So, what am I to do?  You must go before God and ask Him for help.  You must repent of any part you might have had in causing these words and hurts to come about.  Then you must cast your thoughts, your hurts, your anger, your worry, your care upon God because He loves you and cares about you.  Most important of all is to LEAVE all of those issues with the Lord.  Do not reel them back as if they were fish!  Leave your care with God.  He cares for you and He will take care of you.

DISCIPLINE

Part of the discipline of our minds, must be to think about what we are thinking about!  Did someone call you or text you a “juicy” tidbit of gossip?  What did you do with it?  Did you think about it and decide to pass it on to someone else with this warning: “now, I’m just telling you. Don’t tell anyone else?”  Or, do you consider what you heard and say to yourself: I’m not passing this on to anyone because I don’t know if this is true?  Sometimes we hear things that we know are true, but are not helpful to the situation.  Those things should not be passed on either.  You may be thinking: you are taking all the fun out of life!  Many times gossip that has been “passed on to others” has caused great harm in the life of the one being gossiped about.  Being a part of the gossip line is something that is NOT approved of by God. Let us “cut our gossip line”, so we can let the love of God shine in our lives.

MERCIFUL KINDNESS

Let us praise and thank God because of His blessings and His mercy. (Psalm 67:1-4 KJV) God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us.  Selah.  That thy way may be known upon the earth, thy saving health among all nations.  Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.  O let the nations be glad and sing for joy; for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon the earth.  Selah

BLESSINGS AND MERCY

Let us praise and thank God because of His blessings and His mercy. (Psalm 67:1-4 KJV) God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us.  Selah.  That thy way may be known upon the earth, thy saving health among all nations.  Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.  O let the nations be glad and sing for joy; for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon the earth.  Selah

THANKFUL

Has God blessed you abundantly?  Are you thankful for those blessings?  We are all blessed and we should all be thankful.  When we share with others how the Lord has blessed us, we must be careful to give all the praise for the blessings to God.  We should never let our testimony about God’s blessings be a “brag” about how much God loves “me” so he blessed “me”.  God does love us and blesses us, but all the glory should be given to Almighty God, not to “good little me”.  There is an old saying that goes something like this: I killed the bear.  Pa shot him.  Let us get the order right when we are praising God for blessings.  God gives the blessings, and by His grace I am the recipient of those blessings.

OBEDIENCE

Many times the commandment of God to love one another, takes faith on our part.  As we try to obey this commandment, we often discover that we need a lot more “work” concerning our attitudes and desires.  Does this mean we are failures in our Christian walk?  NO!  It means that we are growing.  Someone who thinks they have “arrived” needs lots of help.  The love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit, and often that love of God in us will correct us, so that we can be a better ambassador for Christ.  The more we try to follow the commandment of loving one another, the more we find that the rough edges in our life will be smoothed out.  May we let God’s love that is in our hearts, smooth us today.

THE JOURNEY

We are all making the journey through life.  Sometimes it seems that instead of walking we are crawling or else we are trying to get up again after falling down or stepping into a hole.  We sometimes think that God does not care.  That is NOT true.  God, who gave names to all the stars, even the ones we cannot see even with the Hubble space telescope, cares about YOU.  He knows what is going on in your life and He hears you when you cry out to Him.  He is I AM THAT I AM.  Meaning that He is everything you need and you are only complete when He is the I AM in your life.  He will answer you because He loves you.

PREPARE THE WAY

Let us praise God!  Let us thank God!  Let us worship Him!  Let us honor Him!  Let us praise Him because His mercies are new every morning!  OK!! We know that by the signs of the times that we see in the world, the return of Jesus is very near.  What is our response?  We are to be like John the Baptist who said he was one that was crying in the desert, “Prepare the way of the Lord” Let all the valleys be raised and the mountains and hills be flattened as we see the approach of the Lord.  What?  Valleys of despair and depression.  Cast them aside and raise yourself up.  Mountains and hills of problems that seem to overwhelm you.  Cast them aside and flatten them by the power in Jesus name!  Why?  The King is coming!  Prepare Ye The Way of The Lord!  Hallelujah!

A BLESSING

An act of kindness is a blessing.  Sometimes in our busy lives we overlook opportunities for acts of kindness.  An act of kindness is like the hand of God reaching out to those who need to know that God cares about them.  May we never be so overcome by the issues we face in our lives that we are not able to see those around us who need the encouragement that we can give.  We must remember that as children of God it is our privilege and responsibility to represent Him in this world of hate and indifference.  May we never allow the issues in our lives to over rule the love of God that lives inside of us.  Let that love of God shine in your life today.

LIFE AND LOVE

The life of God and the love of God should always be evident in our lives.  Well, sometimes I just don’t feel like shining!  That happens to all of us, but how we feel should not take precedence over what we know that Jesus said for us to do.  He said you ARE lights, now BE lights.  Therefore, we must be shining when we “feel” like it and when we don’t. Well, nothing good is happening in my life so why I should shine? I’m not shining!  I realize that shining when you feel down is easier said than done, but if we are determined to follow God’s directions in our lives we will shine no matter what. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. We can even shine!
