GOD IS MY STRENGTH

Let us remember that even when we do foolish things, God does not forsake us.  He is always there when we repent and return to Him. Psalm 73:22-26 KJV So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee.  Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou has holden me by my right hand.  Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.  My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

FOOLISH

Let us remember that even when we do foolish things, God does not forsake us.  He is always there when we repent and return to Him. Psalm 73:22-26 KJV So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee.  Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou has holden me by my right hand.  Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.  My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

BLESS THE LORD

Do you have fear?  Do you worry?   Do you have turmoil?  Do things upset you easily?  Do you get angry?  Do you complain?  THESE THINGS ARE NOT VIRTUES!  We all have or do some of these things at times, but they should not be our lifestyle!  We need to listen to ourselves.  If these things are abundant in our lives, then we need to repent and turn from them.  You say how can I do that?  You just don’t know my circumstances.  No I don’t, but God does.  He says in His Word, that if we will Bless Him, Praise Him, Worship Him, Love Him He will hear us when we pray - not when we complain.  Let us make an effort to praise God for His Goodness and quit complaining to Him.

NEVER CHANGNG

Jesus is the same, yesterday, today, and forever.  He does not change. God the Father does not change.  Why is that important?  Because our world is in continual change - most of which is not for the better.  We need to have stability in our lives and there is only one way for us to have it and that is with God, our Father and Jesus, our Savior.  We must not allow ourselves to be moved by the things in this world that would steal our peace and cause us anxiety.  What we see with our natural eyes will change but the things we see with our eyes of faith - the eternal things of God never change.  They always stay the same.

THE CHOICE

We are to have no other gods before God Almighty and we are to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.  Let us consider this love.  The Bible says that God loved us before we even knew who He was. He did not love us because we were so good, so cute, so smart, so strong, or so handsome, etc.  He loved us because He is love.  Now we have a choice: We can choose to love God or we can choose not to love God.  This choice is ours.  Our love for God should cause everything that we say, think, or do to be a reflection of the love of God in our lives.

GIVER OF LIFE

God loves us even though very often we are not loveable.  He says to us that He wants us to love Him and to worship Him.  Why does He say that?  Because He knows that we can so very easily get entangled in life and forget the Giver of life.  We don’t mean to do that, but we all do it at times.  Let us redouble our efforts as children of God, to not allow ourselves to become entangled in the pleasures of this world.  What we see today and think we “just must have” is tomorrow’s junk.  Let us put our focus on the eternal things of God which never change and never become tomorrow’s junk!  May the love of God and the peace of God be yours in all the days ahead.

GOD'S LOVE

The love that God has for mankind was manifest in Jesus who came as the Son of God, Savior of the world.  When we choose Jesus as our Savior and Lord, we are choosing God’s love.  We are leaving behind all our old ways: ill temper, bad feelings, bad thoughts, bad actions, lying, stealing, cheating, wrong lifestyles, because the love of God causes us to repent of our sins and choose Jesus.  When I think on the love of God, it is more than I can comprehend, but HE LOVES YOU AND ME.   God is good!  All the time!

GIVE GOD GLORY

Let us remember from day to day, to give glory unto the Lord that is due to His Name.  Psalm 96:7-10 KJV Give unto the Lord, O ye kindreds of the people, give unto the Lord glory and strength.  Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come into his courts.  O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness: fear before him all the earth.  Say among the heathen that the Lord reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously.June 7

SING UNTO THE LORD

Let us come before the Lord with joyfulness and singing.   Psalm 95:1-3 KJV O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.  Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.  For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

GOD FIRST

There are some things written in God’s Word that we are to do. The first thing that we are directed to do is to have NO OTHER gods BEFORE GOD ALMIGHTY.  Many times we think that we don’t have other gods before God, but we fail to recognize that we have not put God first in our thinking, our actions, and our lives.  In our personal lives we need to consider honestly the position that God and His instructions hold for us.  Is He first?  Is He last?  Or is what He has said in His Word not even considered?  May God be merciful to us as we make the needed corrections.
