What is faith?  Well, is it trust in God?  Or is it obeying God?  No.  Trusting God and obeying God are the results of having faith.   Do you realize that faith is a gift?  Do you realize that grace is a gift?  Ephesians 2:8-9, are very familiar scriptures to most people, but many times we fail to pay attention to ALL the words.  We are saved by grace through faith neither of which we had operating in us before we received Jesus.  The rest of the verse says IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD.  We cannot work to receive God’s free gift.  We receive it. Then faith grows by hearing and acting on God’s Word.  In these days, we will only be able “to stand” if our faith is grounded in what God has to say.

What we see and hear are part of our emotional make-up. Many times what we hear is not the truth and what we see is not the truth, but we let  our minds meditate on these untruths.  When we do that we cause ourselves great grief.  We cannot allow ourselves to turn lies into truth in our mind and expect no problems.  What am I talking about?  Relationships for one thing.  We can not allow ourselves to always think people are talking about us, or they are rejecting us, or they are trying to influence someone else to dislike us.  We must know who we are in Jesus. We are accepted by God because of Jesus’ sacrifice. God loves us.  Let that be your thought today. Cast all other thoughts away and praise God. Walk by faith and not by sight.

When love, joy, and peace rule in your heart, people will want to have what you have.  This is some of the spiritual fruit that is missing in today’s world.  It is not an easy thing to walk in love with people or to be JOYFUL while you do it, but if we can learn to keep our emotions under control we will have the wonderful blessing of living daily in the peace of God.  In this world today, living in the peace of God is a marvelous thing that we all need to do.  Not many people have peace in their lives.  Most live in a chaotic state of mind and activity.  They will be drawn to those of us who are walking in the love of God, the strength of His joy, and letting His peace rule our lives.  Be light!  Be salt! Let Jesus rule and reign in you.

With the situations going on all around the world today, we need wisdom from God to direct our steps. He said are to“ask” and receive. Proverbs 4:5-7 (KJV) 5. Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. 6. Forsake her not and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. 7. Wisdom is the principle thing; therefore get wisdom and with all thy getting get understanding.

In this day in which many Christians around the world are being persecuted and many are being killed because of Jesus name, let us be very grateful that we are able to assemble ourselves together to worship God without fear of being killed or worse. May we never lose this privilege because of neglect. Psalm 100 KJV 1. Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. 2. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. 3. Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us and not we ourselves; we are his people and the sheep of his pasture. 4. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him and bless his name. 5. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

The seeds we plant in our natural garden begin to come up, but at the same time weeds begin to grow. The job of the gardener is to keep the weeds out of the garden. That is a job! The same is true in the spiritual realm. We begin to plant the Word of God in our heart and Satan comes along to choke it out by causing us to become angry, talk too much, feel sorry for ourselves, etc. The job of the Christian is to keep the bad seed from taking root in our lives. That is a job - but you have help from the Holy Spirit. Happy weed pulling!

When you are preparing to plant a garden, you must decide what you are going to plant and then you must prepare the ground to receive the seed you are planting. When Jesus becomes our Savior we are given a new heart that is good ground to receive the Word of God. we begin to plant seed. Our natural garden may have tomatoes, beans, peas, watermelon, etc and we take great pleasure in anticipating the good things that we will be able to eat shortly. The spiritual seed which is planted in us is called the fruit of the Spirit which is: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. We should take pleasure in anticipating the wonderful presence of God in our lives as this fruit grows.

God is a mighty God. He is our mighty God! Do you realize that the children of Israel were in the desert for 40 years and their clothes did not wear out! Neither did their shoes! Their feet did not swell! They had the cloud of God’s presence for shade in the daytime and the fire of His presence at night for heat! Why do we question whether God will do things for us? Why do we sometimes think “that was the old testament!” Is God the same yesterday, today, and forever? Yes! We must ask, believe, and expect to see the mighty awesome power of God operate in our lives every day!

The situation that seemingly had no answer for the children of Israel at the Red sea, turned into a miracle.  The water parted and stood straight up!  The muddy bottom of the sea became dry and the people walked across  the sea on dry ground.  Take a moment and meditate on that.  Can you see yourself walking through the sea on dry ground?  The children of Israel walked across the sea on dry land. The Egyptians tried to follow them.  The sea came back together and buried the army of destruction in the water.  As we walk by faith, trusting God for each step we take, we too will be able to look from the other side see the issues of our lives get buried in the sea.  Our God is an awesome God!

What did the children of Israel do when they saw the enemy army buried in the water?  They praised God!  They sang to the Lord who had triumphed gloriously in the situation.  They praised God for being their Strength and Shield and for being their Victory.  The Lord is God and they praised Him and exalted Him for who He was in their lives.  Do you need God to move in your life?  Ask Him to help you and lead you in the right direction, then praise Him because He is your God and Father.  He is your Strength and Shield.  He is to be loved, praised, and exalted in every situation.  Praising God will bring His strength to your daily life!  GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME.
