As the world around us grows darker, we must let our light shine brighter and brighter every day. Proverbs 4: 18-19 (AMP)

But the path of the [uncompromisingly] just and righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines more and more (brighter and clearer) until [it reaches its full strength and glory in] the perfect day [to be prepared]. The way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know over what they stumble.

Do you lack wisdom?  Do you lack understanding?  The Word of God is the only place to find either or both of them.  Proverbs say that God has wisdom and gives understanding.  According to Timothy, we are to be
workmen that do not have to be ashamed, because we study the Bible and rightly understand what God is saying.  Are you saying that you don’t understand ALL the Bible?  No one does, but don’t let that be an excuse for not trying to understand.  Ask for understanding before you begin to read.  Meditate on what you are reading and understanding, then put into action what you have read.

The power of God in His Word will become the power of God in us as we read, speak, meditate, and live daily the Word of God in our lives.  EASY?  NO!  But we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.  We have the Holy Spirit to guide, comfort, instruct, and reveal God’s Word and His ways to us.  Let us listen and live in the power of God each day. May we walk with peace on our feet and joy in hearts as we live, and move, and have our being in the wonderful Word of the living God!

Faith that grows must be based on the Word of God. It cannot based on anything else. Many times we begin to believe and then we see things happening that cause us to quit standing on the promises of God. People who we think have more faith than we have are those who know what God has said and they are not moved by what they see. They are not moved by what they hear or feel. They are only moved by what God’s Word says. Most people are not there, but we should strive to get there. Faith becomes strong as we hear, speak, meditate, and obey God’s Word.

Faith is a gift from God so now the question is: what are you doing with your faith? Romans 12 says that God has given to every man THE measure of faith. What does that mean? It means that we are all given the same amount of faith. You say: NO! That’s not true, but it is true. No! I have a friend that has a lot more faith than I do! Your friend is exercising more than you are. How do you exercise? You read a promise of God, you meditate on it and then you DO what He said. You must then let that promise become reality in your life continually. Easy? NO! Necessary? YES!!

What is faith? Well, is it trust in God? Or is it obeying God? No. Trusting God and obeying God are the results of having faith. Do you realize that faith is a gift? Do you realize that grace is a gift? Ephesians 2:8-9, are very familiar scriptures to most people, but many times we fail to pay attention to ALL the words. We are saved by grace through faith neither of which we had operating in us before we received Jesus. The rest of the verse says IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD. We cannot work to receive God’s free gift. We receive it. Then faith grows by hearing and acting on God’s Word. In these days, we will only be able "to stand" if our faith is grounded in what God has to say.

With the situations going on all around the world today, we need wisdom from God to direct our steps. He said are to"ask" and receive.

Proverbs 4:5-7 (KJV)

5. Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.

6. Forsake her not and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.

7. Wisdom is the principle thing; therefore get wisdom and with all thy getting get understanding.

In this day in which many Christians around the world are being persecuted and many are being killed because of Jesus name, let us be very grateful that we are able to assemble ourselves together to worship God without fear of being killed or worse. May we never lose this privilege because of neglect.

Psalm 100 KJV

1. Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.

2. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

3. Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us and not we ourselves; we are his people and the sheep of his pasture.

4. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him and bless his name.

5. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

When love, joy, and peace rule in your heart, people will want to have what you have. This is some of the spiritual fruit that is missing in today’s world. It is not an easy thing to walk in love with people or to be JOYFUL while you do it, but if we can learn to keep our emotions under control we will have the wonderful blessing of living daily in the peace of God. In this world today, living in the peace of God is a marvelous thing that we all need to do. Not many people have peace in their lives. Most live in a chaotic state of mind and activity. They will be drawn to those of us who are walking in the love of God, the strength of His joy, and letting His peace rule our lives. Be light! Be salt! Let Jesus rule and reign in you.

Have you ever seen a piece of fruit that looked beautiful, but when you bit into it tasted awful. It was so bad that it could not be eaten, it was fit for nothing except to be deposited in the trash can. Many times we have known people that looked beautiful on the outside and we assumed that they were beautiful on the inside also, but if you rubbed them the wrong way they turned on you and became like a thorn bush. You couldn’t come near them or they would "stick" you. Let us be determined to get the "thorns" out of our fruit. Our desire must be that our fruit be gracious to those around us.
