LOVE ONE ANOTHER

We know that in the Bible we are commanded to love one another. As we live from day to day this is sometimes a problem. God is talking about His kind of love. We are to love others as He loved us. How is that? He loves us and wants the very best for us, but He does not condone sin and bad behavior. Well! He knows how I am!! Yes, He does, but that doesn’t mean you are excused! We must always remember that God gave us guidelines for living in His Word. Those guidelines are not suggestions. They are commandments! We all need to pay attention to what we say and how we act. We need to see if it lines up with God’s expectations of us. If it doesn’t, then with the help of the Holy Spirit we need to make the necessary changes. We want to be examples of Jesus, and to be able to make a difference in this world each day.

KINDNESS IS A BLESSING

An act of kindness is a blessing. Sometimes in our busy lives we overlook opportunities for acts of kindness. An act of kindness is like the hand of God reaching out to those who need to know that God cares about them. May we never be so overcome by the issues we face in our lives that we are not able to see those around us who need the encouragement that we can give. We must remember that as children of God it is our privilege and responsibility to represent Him in this world of hate and indifference. May we never allow the issues in our lives to over rule the love of God that lives inside of us. Let that love of God shine in your life today.

DISCIPLINE

Are you mentally tuff? Huh? Living in peace in these days requires that we be mentally tuff. So?? We discipline ourselves by eating right and by exercising, but do we discipline our minds? Most people do not. They think about what they want to think about and say what they think. Sometimes saying what we think about a situation is good, but many times we speak when we should have kept quiet! How many of you know that is the truth? So what is the answer? We must discipline what we think about or meditate on. Discipline in this area is very neglected because it is very difficult. We must redirect our thoughts by daily meditation on what God says instead of what we think. Let us begin to discipline ourselves today.

CONQUERORS

Does it seem to you that every day brings an issue that drains your strength and tries to steal your joy? Do not feel that you are alone in this, because it is happening to most of the people that we know. Why does this happen? The Bible says that in the last days, times - life will be hard to deal with and hard to bear. I believe that we have come to those times. So what is the answer? The answer is that we have our mind, will, and emotions set on the solid Rock of Jesus Christ. He only has the answers for us. There is no other answer except Jesus. Trust Him. Cling to Him. With Him we will be more than conquerors in life.

BLESSINGS FROM GOD

May we remember that blessings and increase come from God.

(Psalm 67:5-7 KJV)

Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.

PRAISE GOD

We are to make a joyful noise unto the Lord and praise His name. We need to pause and think on the wonder of our God. (Psalm 66:1-4 Amp)

Make a joyful noise unto God, all the earth. Sing forth the honor and glory of His name; make His praise glorious! Say to God, How awesome and fearfully glorious are Your works! Through the greatness of Your power shall Your enemies submit themselves to You [with feigned and reluctant obedience]. All the earth shall bow down to You and sing praises to You; they shall praise Your name in song. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!

WHAT ARE YOU SAYING?

If we are truly going to walk in the blessings and favor of God, we must be careful concerning what we say and what we do. We must learn to do what is right in God’s eyes ALL the time - even when no one is looking, and we must remember to speak the words that God would speak - even when no one is listening! Oh my, I can’t even say an ugly word at the TV when they are talking trash? Well, I realize there is lots of trash on TV that could cause anyone to "lose it", but we need to restrain ourselves even then, because those words that we have saying to the TV, many times will come out of our mouths when we are not at home. Why? We have given them place in our lives and the devil takes great pleasure in causing them to come out when we least expect it. Let us give thought everyday to doing and saying what is right in God’s eyes.

ALWAYS SHINING

The life of God and the love of God should always be evident in our lives. Well, sometimes I just don’t feel like shining! That happens to all of us, but how we feel should not take precedence over what we know that Jesus said for us to do. He said you ARE lights, now BE lights. Therefore, we must be shining when we "feel" like it and when we don’t. Well, nothing good is happening in my life so why I should shine? I’m not shining! I realize that shining when you feel down is easier said than done, but if we are determined to follow God’s directions in our lives we will shine no matter what. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. We can even shine!

FAITH REQUIRES ACTION

As our faith grows, we will be able to love those around us, just as Jesus loved those around him. He had compassion on the people because they seemed to be like lost sheep without a shepherd. He still loves people today and has the same compassion for them. When Jesus was on the earth, He taught them, preached to them, and healed them. When He left to go back to Heaven, He said for us to go into all the world and do what He had been doing. To obey that commandment requires faith, love, and determination. It requires the direction of the Holy Spirit. We must go in faith believing that the Holy Spirit will direct our steps and our words. Faith requires action! Are you ready??

SONSHINE

We all enjoy a beautiful spring day with lots of sunshine and very little wind. It brings joy to our hearts when we have those days. When it stays cloudy, rainy, cold, and dreary, we often loose our happy thoughts. You say, yes that is true. So what? Life is like that. Sometimes life is sunny and everything seems alright. Later it is dreary, cold, stormy, or too hot. What are we to do? We are the children of God, therefore our circumstances should not affect our "Sonshine". The joy of the Lord inside us should always be allowed "out" so that maybe someone else will see a ray of Sonshine in their lives. Shine on, my friends. Shine on!
