What do you think about?  Are your thoughts on the issues and events taking place in this world?  If that is what you think about, I dare say, your mind is in turmoil most of the time while you try to “figure out” the answers to today’s questions.  The Bible says that we are to set our minds and keep them set on the things of God. If we do that we can live here in peace.  If we don’t do that we will have very limited peace of mind.  Remember: This world is not our home!  We’re just passing through!  Heaven with all its glory waits just ahead!  Look up!  Jesus is coming SOON!

Psalm 23, says that the Lord is our Shepherd therefore we shall not want.  You may be saying, well I have some “wants” in my life!  Is Jesus your Lord (boss), your shepherd?  Many times when we are “wanting”, we can’t really tell what we are “wanting for” because we don’t know.  We think we want something in this natural world in which we live, but often it is our spirit that is crying out for things that only God can give.  When we truly make Jesus our Lord, He will restore our soul; what we think about, what we say, and our emotional ups and downs.  All power lies in Jesus, but we must access that power by allowing Him to be our Lord.

Let us sing to the Lord, today.  He has wonderfully and graciously blessed us!  Psalm 96:1-4 (Amplified)

O sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth!  Sing to the Lord, bless (affectionately praise) His name; show forth His salvation from day to day.  Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous works among the peoples.   For great is the Lord and greatly to be praised; He is to be reverently feared and worshiped above all [so called] gods

May our desire today, be to worship and honor our God, our Father in spirit and in truth.  Psalm 27:1;4-5 (KJV)

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?  One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in His temple.  For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion: in the secret of His tabernacle shall He hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock And now my head shall be lifted up above mine enemies round about me; therefore will I offer in His tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.

Have you looked at the issues you are facing and “figured out what you need to do” without asking God for help?  We have all done that at times.  We have probably all thought that we had the right answer for the situation only to find out it was the wrong answer!  What are we to do?  We must pray and ask God for the answer.  Sometimes we do not get a direct answer, but we receive perfect peace in our heart concerning what we had thought about doing.  That peace is often God’s answer.  We are not to trust our own understanding about a matter, but we are trust in the Lord with all our heart and not fret!

Have you ever suddenly become afraid for no apparent reason?  Proverbs chapter 3 says that we are NOT to be afraid of sudden fear.  Why should we not be afraid?  God has not given us a spirit of fear!  So where does it come from?  The devil is the author of fear.  He gives us False Evidence Appearing Real. (FEAR)  We begin to think about it and if we are not careful panic will show up.  We must let the Lord be our confidence and know that He will take care of us.  FEAR NOT for the Lord our God is with us!

Because we are children of God, we walk in the favor of God.  What a blessing!  You say, “Well I’m not seeing God’s favor in my life”.  We won’t see His favor in a great way if we are not walking hand in hand with Him.  Many times in the Bible He says He will order our steps, show us the way, give us knowledge of witty inventions, but we ignore Him.  We think we can do it ourselves!  We often have to make many missteps before we understand that God knows more than we do!   It is amazing that we think we are so “smart”!  May we always remember that God knows the end from the beginning and let Him lead the way.

Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed by the issues of the days in which we live?  We all feel that way at times.  There are times when we cry out to the Lord and we may feel like He is not hearing us.  We feel fear inside of us.  We become discouraged.  We sometimes want to sit in our house and not come out again!  I want you to know that God said in Psalm 56 that He knows what is going on in your life.  He puts your tears in HIS bottle ( He knows when you cry) and He writes it down in His book.  Never be defeated.  God Almighty, the Creator of Heaven and Earth has your tears in His bottle and He cares about YOU!

When the children of Israel came out of Egypt, the Egyptians decided to chase them down.  Sounds like what the devil does to us when we begin to diligently follow God, doesn’t it?   They saw mountains on both sides of them, the Red Sea in front of them and the Egyptians behind them.  They were verrrry afraid!  The Bible says Moses cried out to God!  Moses told the people not to be afraid, to be quiet, and believe to see God bring them to safety.  He said what you see today will be gone tomorrow.  Hold your peace!  Trust God!  He will take care of you!  We need to remember these words daily ourselves.  Things we see today will be different tomorrow.  We also must trust God, hold our peace, be quiet, and God will see us through the storms of life!

Let us remember these words from Colossians 3:16-17 (KJV).

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.  And whatsoever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
