LET GOD BE YOUR GUIDE

The book of Hebrews says that without faith we cannot please God, so our "journey of life" must be walked by faith and not by sight. Otherwise, we will not please God. So, how do we do that? The first thing God told Abram (Abraham) was to leave his country and his kinfolks. We do not know exactly why God told him to do that, but it is possible that God did not approve of their life style! Hebrews says that by faith Abraham left the Ur of the Chaldees and went out not knowing where he was going. We sometimes "go out not knowing where we are going", but I don’t think we are very often sent by God like Abram was, nevertheless, we must also walk in faith from day to day, believing that God is able to guide our steps.

HONOR GOD

There are great rewards for those who honor God in their lives. God is our help and our guide!

Psalm 37:23-25 (Amplified):
The steps of a [good] man are directed and established by the Lord when He delights in his way [and He busies Himself with his every step]. Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down, for the Lord grasps his hand and upholds him. I have been young and now I am old, yet I have not seen the [uncompromisingly] righteous forsaken or their seed begging bread.

WORTHY

Everyone should praise the Lord, because he is worthy to be praised!

Psalm 117: 1-2 (KJV)
O praise the Lord, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people. For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the Lord endureth for ever. Praise ye the Lord.

AGREEMENT

As we believe in our heart it will be done to us, but we must not only believe in our heart but we must also say with our mouth the thing that we want done. The two: heart and mouth must be in agreement. Otherwise you will be what the book of James calls "a double-minded person". If we are double-minded, the Bible says we should not expect to receive anything from God. If you go to a restaurant to eat but you can’t make up your mind what you want, do you expect the server to bring you something anyway? NO. Why should we expect God to give us "what we want" when we can’t make up our mind what we want from Him. He won’t give us anything until we can get our heart and mouth in agreement. Never forget that!

WORDS OF FAITH

Now if we want our faith to work, and we are waiting before the Lord for directions concerning how to pray and what to say, then we must not spend our "free time" telling everyone about the problem. That is when we should let our yes be yes and our no be no, for all else is sin. This is God’s direction to us in His Word that will keep us from destroying the faith that God has given us. The centurion that came to Jesus, said to Jesus "speak the word only, and my servant will be healed" What did Jesus say to the centurion? As you have believed in your heart be it done unto you. This same word is for us today.

GOOD SEED

What have we been planting? When our crop of peas or tomatoes does not produce well, we check our seed to make sure we have good seed. When our faith is not producing, we need to check our seed! If we have been repeating "our poor, pitiful mess" to everyone who will listen to us, we should not be surprised that we continue to have our "mess". We need to change our seed. Well!! What kind of seed should I be planting? The answer to the problem, not the problem. Well, I don’t know the answer!! If you do not know how to pray, then you should wait before the Lord until He shows you how to pray. Our very best answers come from God, but we must be willing to wait on Him and to hear what He says to us.

SEED

What is mustard seed faith? Huh? Matthew records that Jesus said that your faith is as a mustard seed. What does that mean? Jesus was not talking about the size of your faith. He was comparing your faith to a seed. What do you do with a seed? If you want to admire a seed, you can put it in a jar or you can make a necklace out of it in order to be able to see it and admire it. If you want it to produce, you plant it! If you want your faith to produce, you plant it! How? By saying what the Word of God says about your situation. Your mouth plants seeds of faith or it can plant seeds of doubt. What have you been planting?

PEACE

In John 14:27, Jesus said,"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you, not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." (KJV) When things are hard, and life is difficult, we often lose our peace. We must always remember that Jesus is our peace and run to Him for comfort and help. Jesus knows our needs, our sorrows, our frustrations, our issues and He is our help when we turn with all our heart to Him. Let go of all your problems, and cling to our Lord Jesus Christ, Who is our peace and our comfort. God bless you today.

BE THANKFUL

A reason to remember and be thankful that God loves us.

Psalm 116:1-2 (KJV)
I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

PEACE IN THE NATION

If we desire to live our lives in peace in this nation, we must hear and obey what God says in His Word. Psalm 85:8-9 (KJV)

I will hear what God the Lord will speak: for He will speak peace unto His people, and to His saints: but let them not turn again to folly. Surely His salvation is nigh them that fear Him; that glory may dwell in our land.
