MERCIFUL KINDNESS

We should praise the Lord for His merciful kindness toward us.

(Psalm 117 KJV)

O praise the Lord, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people, for his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the Lord endureth forever. Praise ye the Lord.

THOUGHTS

Thoughts! Thoughts!! What am I going to do with these thoughts? I can’t stop thinking about the angry words that were said and the hurt that is inside me. What am I to do? These thoughts are controlling my days and ruining my nights. You must remember that you are not alone in this situation. There are many others that deal with the same thing. So, what am I to do? You must go before God and ask Him for help. You must repent of any part you might have had in causing these words and hurts to come about. Then you must cast your thoughts, your hurts, your anger, your worry, your care upon God because He loves you and cares about you. Most important of all is to LEAVE all of those issues with the Lord. Do not reel them back as if they were fish! Leave your care with God. He cares for you and He will take care of you.

DISCIPLINE OF THE MIND

Part of the discipline of our minds, must be to think about what we are thinking about! Did someone call you or text you a "juicy" tidbit of gossip? What did you do with it? Did you think about it and decide to pass it on to someone else with this warning: "now, I’m just telling you. Don’t tell anyone else?" Or, do you consider what you heard and say to yourself: I’m not passing this on to anyone because I don’t know if this is true? Sometimes we hear things that we know are true, but are not helpful to the situation. Those things should not be passed on either. You may be thinking: you are taking all the fun out of life! Many times gossip that has been "passed on to others" has caused great harm in the life of the one being gossiped about. Being a part of the gossip line is something that is NOT approved of by God. Let us "cut our gossip line", so we can let the love of God shine in our lives.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE

We know that in the Bible we are commanded to love one another. As we live from day to day this is sometimes a problem. God is talking about His kind of love. We are to love others as He loved us. How is that? He loves us and wants the very best for us, but He does not condone sin and bad behavior. Well! He knows how I am!! Yes, He does, but that doesn’t mean you are excused! We must always remember that God gave us guidelines for living in His Word. Those guidelines are not suggestions. They are commandments! We all need to pay attention to what we say and how we act. We need to see if it lines up with God’s expectations of us. If it doesn’t, then with the help of the Holy Spirit we need to make the necessary changes. We want to be examples of Jesus, and to be able to make a difference in this world each day.

ACT OF KINDNESS

An act of kindness is a blessing. Sometimes in our busy lives we overlook opportunities for acts of kindness. An act of kindness is like the hand of God reaching out to those who need to know that God cares about them. May we never be so overcome by the issues we face in our lives that we are not able to see those around us who need the encouragement that we can give. We must remember that as children of God it is our privilege and responsibility to represent Him in this world of hate and indifference. May we never allow the issues in our lives to over rule the love of God that lives inside of us. Let that love of God shine in your life today.

DISCIPLINE FOR THE MIND

Are you mentally tuff? Huh? Living in peace in these days requires that we be mentally tuff. So?? We discipline ourselves by eating right and by exercising, but do we discipline our minds? Most people do not. They think about what they want to think about and say what they think. Sometimes saying what we think about a situation is good, but many times we speak when we should have kept quiet! How many of you know that is the truth? So what is the answer? We must discipline what we think about or meditate on. Discipline in this area is very neglected because it is very difficult. We must redirect our thoughts by daily meditation on what God says instead of what we think. Let us begin to discipline ourselves today.

GOD SHALL BLESS US

May we remember that blessings and increase come from God.

(Psalm 67:5-7 KJV)

Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.

MORE THAN CONQUERORS

Does it seem to you that every day brings an issue that drains your strength and tries to steal your joy? Do not feel that you are alone in this, because it is happening to most of the people that we know. Why does this happen? The Bible says that in the last days, times - life will be hard to deal with and hard to bear. I believe that we have come to those times. So what is the answer? The answer is that we have our mind, will, and emotions set on the solid Rock of Jesus Christ. He only has the answers for us. There is no other answer except Jesus. Trust Him. Cling to Him. With Him we will be more than conquerors in life.

DOING AND SAYING THE RIGHT THINGS

If we are truly going to walk in the blessings and favor of God, we must be careful concerning what we say and what we do. We must learn to do what is right in God’s eyes ALL the time - even when no one is looking, and we must remember to speak the words that God would speak - even when no one is listening! Oh my, I can’t even say an ugly word at the TV when they are talking trash? Well, I realize there is lots of trash on TV that could cause anyone to "lose it", but we need to restrain ourselves even then, because those words that we have saying to the TV, many times will come out of our mouths when we are not at home. Why? We have given them place in our lives and the devil takes great pleasure in causing them to come out when we least expect it. Let us give thought everyday to doing and saying what is right in God’s eyes.

ARE YOU SHINING?

The life of God and the love of God should always be evident in our lives. Well, sometimes I just don’t feel like shining! That happens to all of us, but how we feel should not take precedence over what we know that Jesus said for us to do. He said you ARE lights, now BE lights. Therefore, we must be shining when we "feel" like it and when we don’t. Well, nothing good is happening in my life so why I should shine? I’m not shining! I realize that shining when you feel down is easier said than done, but if we are determined to follow God’s directions in our lives we will shine no matter what. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. We can even shine!
